Overview:
It is the duty of care for all service providers to ensure that the service provider has trained staff in patient evacuation training.

 

This gives staff the skills and training to safely evacuate a vulnerable person out of their accommodation in an emergency. In a fire, flood, electrical or other emergency time is critical to ensure safety of staff and clients.

 

Knowing how to evacuate is one thing but knowing how to use emergency evacuation sheets and manual handling equipment is a skill that staff need to be trained to safely complete.
